This hours calculator shows how long a shift is the moment you set two clock times — hours and minutes plus payroll decimal hours. No Calculate button. Drag the 24-hour ring or type a start and end; overnight shifts wrap past midnight on their own.

Overtime, pay estimate, and privacy

Hours above a weekly threshold (40 by default) count as overtime. An optional hourly rate estimates gross pay (1.5× on overtime) — not tax or net pay. Everything runs on your device: no account, no upload. World-clock timezone duration stays on the world clock.

1. How do I calculate hours between two times?

➥ Open Hours between, set a start and end on the 24-hour clock ring (or the time fields). The result updates live — there is no Calculate button. Overnight shifts such as 22:00 to 06:00 wrap past midnight automatically.

2. How are unpaid breaks handled?

➥ Enter break minutes (for example 30). They are subtracted from the shift. A 09:00–17:30 day with a 30-minute lunch is 8.00 hours. Leave the break at 0 if lunch is paid.

3. What are decimal hours?

➥ Payroll often wants hours as a decimal, not hours and minutes. 8 hours 30 minutes is 8.50. Both formats appear on the result so you can copy either into an invoice or timesheet.

4. How do I add or subtract time?

➥ Switch to Add / Subtract, pick a starting time, choose Add or Subtract, and set hours and minutes (or tap +15 / +30 / +90). The result time updates instantly; a chip shows if it crosses midnight into another day.

5. How does the weekly time card work?

➥ Open Time card. Enter start, end, and break for each day you worked; leave a day empty for a day off. Overnight shifts work the same as Hours between. Week start follows the same ISO 8601, US, or custom rule as the Week Number tool.

6. How is overtime calculated?

➥ Hours above the weekly threshold (40 by default, 0 to turn off) count as overtime. Optional hourly rate estimates gross pay at 1× for regular hours and 1.5× for overtime. Taxes and net pay are out of scope.

7. Can I export the week?

➥ Yes. Copy summary pastes a text week. Export CSV and Export Excel download a file. Copy link shares a URL whose hash stores the mode and times — the address bar itself stays clean.

8. Is my timesheet uploaded?

➥ No. Times, breaks, overtime threshold, and rate stay in your browser (and in the URL hash only if you copy the link). Nothing is sent to a server to compute the result.
